I carry no phone
An aspiring Luddite
In a wired world.
Jeff Berry is an early adopter of the Internet and the Web, a late adopter of Twitter, and declines to adopt Facebook. With the death of Google+, he's experimenting with federated platforms. He admins a medievalist Mastodon instance, and can found on the PlusPora diaspora pod. He hates cell-phones.
Alternatively, you could just do something over on google+, if you want, and tag it so that I see it. I'm not hard to find over there. This is working fairly well, as seen below.
What they are good for, though, is making security concerns about things like comments Somebody Else's Problem. Making a forum on this server secure enough to satisfy me is, quite frankly, not worth the effort. Furthermore, even if I made the effort, someone suitably motivated could probably hack it given enough time. So, I opt to keep control over who has write access to my server as limited as possible.
So, by all means, comment over on google+, where preventing intrusions through the commenting mechanism is Not My Problem.
